Birthdays in Isolation Blog Hop

This week I’m joining in the Social Stamping Blog Hop, the lovely Kelly Kent has organised – Birthday’s in Isolation & it also happens to be Kelly’s Birthday Month – so a big Happy Birthday to you Kelly!

Whether you’ve come here from Angela Sargent’s Blog or just starting here, make sure to follow the hop & enjoy all the fabulous creations.

My card is made with my new favourite stamp set – Ornate Style an early release from Stampin’ Up! upcoming annual catalogue…

What you’ll need:

Ornate Style Stamp Set

A sentiment stamp set – I used Ornate Thanks for the ‘You’re Amazing’ card & Peaceful Moments for the Happy Birthday’ card

Crumb Cake Card Stock – 1/2 sheet for card base

Whisper White Card Stock – 3 & 3/4” x 5 & 7/16” plus small scraps for sentiment

Memento Black Ink

A combination of Stampin Blends – I have used Old Olive, Pink Pirouette, Calypso Coral (only on the ‘You’re Amazing card’), Daffodil Delight, Rococo Rose(only on the ‘Happy Birthday’)- light & dark, plus Crumb Cake Dark & the colour lifter

Small scrap ribbon – I used Scalloped Linen Ribbon in Rococo Rose(for the ‘Happy Birthday’ card) & Terracotta Tile(for the ‘You’re Amazing’ card)

Stapler

Dimensionals

Time to put it together,

Stamp the big flower bunch in Memento on Whisper White & set aside, next stamp your sentiment – you can choose to make one or both cards – I cut my sentiment pieces after stamping so they were only slightly larger than the sentiment itself & didn’t take too much focus away from flowers.

Colour in your flowers with blends, I left the daisies white & coloured only the centres, when finished attach your small piece of ribbon to the top left corner with stapler.

With dimensionals add flowers to card base & then also with dimensionals add sentiment to the bottom right hand corner of flowers

And you’re done, it’s really hard to stop making these they are so relaxing to colour in & quick & easy to make.

    1. Thanks so much Julia! I love to add a little bit of ribbon like that, when my cards need a ‘little’ something else, it works so well(I think I first saw Dena Rekow do it, such a great idea!)x

  2. Beautiful cards , I often try to add too many different colours but then I see cards like yours with a smaller range of colours and I love them. I also like to use that ribbon detail, and I love the white on the crumbcake base.

    1. Thank you Liz, often less is more-but it can be a struggle especially with so many gorgeous colours to choose from! I usually look at how many types of flowers & choose the same amount of colours. I love the little piece of ribbon when you just need that little something. 💖
